Day 1: We will be picked up from the hotel at the agreed time to go to the port where we will embark.
The boat that awaits us is a typical wooden boat from the region, which is perfectly equipped to cover all our needs during the trip.
During this expedition we will enjoy two completely different ecosystems, the Negro River and the Solimões River, which we will explain later.
We will sail along the Negro River to the paradisiacal village, where we will see a demonstration of rubber extraction. There is a family that still lives there and they will show us how rubber extraction was done. This place is very interesting.
We will then continue by boat until we reach the village of Baricatuba, where there is an old building that served as a hospital and later as a Portuguese-era fortress. Today, it can be said that it remains standing thanks to the trees and vines that support it.
Upon returning to the ship, the captain will take us to a quiet place to spend the night, where we can listen to the sounds of the jungle. And after dinner, the guide may regale us with a legend while we sip a caipirinha.
Day 2: In the morning, after a good breakfast, we will take a walk through the jungle, during which the guide will explain which trees we are seeing, what they are for, what they are used for, what animals can be seen, and what they use. the Indians certain plants.
On the way back to the ship, there will be time to dance in the warm waters of the Rio Negro before eating.
In the afternoon we will go swimming with the freshwater dolphins, and we will go out in a canoe, entering a shallow and narrow tributary where boats cannot pass, to enjoy the landscape that the flooded jungle offers us.
Upon returning to the ship, a succulent dinner will await us, prepared as always in the traditional style of the region. Overnight on the boat.
Day 3: In the morning we will go by motorboat to visit and fish for piranhas in the largest river archipelago in the world (depending on the season), called Anavilhanas (if we want to enjoy eating our fish we can ask our guide for it). The guide will teach us the fishing technique needed to catch these famous fish, and we will be able to see what fantastic teeth these animals have.
Upon returning to the ship, before lunch, we will have time to take a shower, and after the meal, as the ship heads towards Terra Preta, we will have time to take a nap or chat a little after dinner, as we feel like it.
In the afternoon we will visit a village, Acajatuba, where we can learn about its way of life, buy handicrafts and admire the joy of its people.
We will return to the boat to continue sailing until we reach the beach where there will be time before dinner for a swim in the warm waters of the Negro River, to stroll along the beach here you can sleep in hammocks on the beach, contemplate the sunset, where everything gradually changes color until nightfall. In the morning you will be awakened by the first rays of sun with which all splendid sunrises begin in the Amazon.
Day 4: Breakfast. Today we will prepare to spend this day in the jungle, where we will also spend the night. Once in the jungle, our guide will teach us survival techniques, such as finding firewood to make our fire and preparing our lunch and dinner. We will use palm leaves to build the camp, palm leaves to make the plates, and we will make spoons with the bark of the sticks, all natural with the natives.
The hammocks are tied between the trees. We will also use mosquito nets.
Day 5: Wake up early to hear the awakening of the jungle, listen to the songs of the animals that surround us. We will prepare our equipment to begin our walk back to the ship. Breakfast.
After breakfast, we will sail until we reach a place where we will use oars or motorized canoes to explore the flooded jungle (depending on the time of year, this activity can be done from March to the end of July). This flooded jungle area is a good place to observe primates, parrots, macaws and other animals, such as sloths. Food will be served on the way, on the riverbank. We will continue exploring the Igarapés (small rivers and water channels in the jungle). Return to the ship at dusk.
Dinner and departure to observe alligators and other nocturnal animals. Return to the ship and spend the night.
Day 6: Breakfast and sailing on the Negro River to an indigenous tribe, where we will participate in a ceremony and dance. The chief of the tribe will introduce his people, tell us how they came to this place, how they live, see their crafts and time for photos.
After this visit, we will continue sailing to the Amazon River. Food will be served during the navigation. Arrival and reconnaissance tour: Visit the floating homes of the natives who inhabit this region of the Amazon River. The vast majority of families who live here in this area of ??the Amazon River make their living from agriculture and fishing. We will also visit the water lilies. Dinner will be served on our boat.
Day 7: Breakfast and departure by canoe to explore the Amazon River region in more detail. Here we pass through the Igarapés and Igapós, where we can perceive with all our senses part of the Amazon, its smell of pure vegetation, the intense green of the leaves of its trees, which sometimes give us generous and splendid flowers that give off exuberant and strange smells, the sound of the songs of the different birds that we can not see at least hear, although sometimes they are friendly with visitors and let us see their fantastic plumage, marveling at a profusion of colors among the vegetation.
Back on the ship, lunch. After lunch we will sail towards the "Meeting of the Waters", a natural phenomenon where the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimões meet, without mixing for miles. Here the black waters of the Rio Negro sailing parallel to the brown waters of the Rio Solimões offer a spectacle without equal in the world. It is at the junction of these two rivers that the Amazon River begins, which flows into the Atlantic.
