City tours around the city of Manaus
We will leave in the morning to start a city tour of Manaus, where we will be able to visit its main attractions, the Municipal Market, the Rio Negro Palace, learning a little about the history of Manaus, and the Amazonas Theater, a symbol of the heyday and splendor of rubber.
The Teatro Amazonas was inaugurated on December 31, 1896, and is the most important architectural work of the rubber boom period and the greatest artistic and cultural heritage. It usually functions as a concert hall, offering regional, national and international artistic attractions. We will also visit buildings and monuments.
The Rio Negro Palace was the residence of a wealthy merchant until 1917, and then it was the seat of the Amazonas government until 1996. It currently hosts exhibitions and chamber shows.
The Adolpho Lisboa Municipal Market was built in front of the Rio Negro, with a marked art nouveau style, and opened its doors in 1882. Its architecture is compared to the Les Hales market in Paris, which is now extinct. Today it is a
Shopping center for regional products. We will visit the floating port of Manaus.
Meeting of the Waters
Then we will transfer to the fishermen's port, Ceaça port. Boarding and departure to visit a great natural phenomenon, the meeting of the two rivers (Solimões and Rio Negro)
Then we will continue to Lake Victoria Royal. Departure for a canoe ride to visit the natives and the Water Lilies. Return to our ship. Lunch.
Sailing to the city of Paraíso. Disembarkation and visit the land of rubber. Here we will see how the men who once worked with this type of rubber products. Visit the hut where they worked, we will continue with a walk in the jungle to see the extraction of rubber and the development of this work. View of the beautiful house of the rubber chief. Return to the boat to leave for a beach in Zuna for an unforgettable dinner. After dinner, board the boat back to Manaus. Arrival in Manaus and end of our work. Arrival time in Manaus 7:30 p.m.
